WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Junior Akeem Hunt has been named the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week. Hunt returned the opening kickoff against Indiana State 99 yards for a touchdown. The return was his second career score on a kickoff (also 100 yards at Ohio State in 2012). Hunt shared the weekly honors with Minnesota's Marcus Jones.

Hunt, from Covington, Ga., finished the game against the Sycamores with 243 all-purpose yards, gaining 123 yards on kick returns, 82 yards rushing and 38 receiving yards. The conference honors are the first of the season for any Boilermaker and the first of Hunt's career.
