Interested businesses are encouraged to submit a participation form to the Purdue Trademarks Licensing office via email, fax or mail.
Businesses can sign up and will be acknowledged on the Boilermaker Fridays website. Fans will be driven to the website for Boilermaker Friday promotions through the front page banner on purdue.edu and through boilermakerdepot.com, as well as through ongoing Purdue spirit events and window clings bearing the campaign name and URL that will be widely distributed on campus and in the community.
Businesses also are encouraged to join in the Spirit Campaign by displaying Purdue colors and signage in their window displays, flying the Purdue flag and encouraging their employees to dress accordingly in gold and black. Weekly business winners of the spirit contest will be recognized on the purdue.edu website.
"Having everybody fly Purdue flags and dress in gold and black is a meaningful and appreciative show of support for our Boilermaker teams," says Morgan Burke, director of intercollegiate athletics. "Gold & Black Fridays tie in nicely with the other community initiatives that have been planned - namely the Boiler Bridge Walk and SpiritMakers Contest - as well as the Gold & Black Game at Ross-Ade Stadium on Oct. 13."
T-shirts and other apparel are on sale on-line and at many of the local retail stores with a percentage of the sales going to support the 12th Boiler Fund, which endows a Boilermaker football scholarship.
