WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue's Frankie Williams was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week after his first collegiate action against Eastern Kentucky last weekend. The Tampa, Fla., native recorded six tackles, the most by a freshman in the conference on opening weekend, including four solo stops and a tackle for loss. He also added a PBU in the 48-6 Boilermaker victory.

Williams is the third Boilermaker freshman to earn the conference recognition along with Rob Henry in 2010 and Raheem Mostert in 2011.

Purdue will head to South Bend, Ind., this weekend to take on Notre Dame. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. ET and it will be shown live on NBC.
