Sept. 2, 2010

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue football team opens its home schedule Sept. 11 against Western Illinois, with kickoff scheduled for noon.

Purdue Athletics recognizes the importance of this date in history and has designated it as Military Appreciation Day. Purdue Athletics would like to honor members of the military and their families by providing as many donated tickets as possible for these individuals to attend the game.

All Boilermaker fans and businesses throughout the state may help support our military personnel and family members by purchasing tickets for them at a discounted price of only $20 per ticket. Purdue Athletics will match each donated ticket purchased for the military, thereby doubling the number of tickets provided.

Military personnel and family members that do not receive a donated ticket may purchase tickets to the game at the discounted rate of $20 per ticket (50 percent off a regular-priced ticket).

Purdue Athletics will have a special recognition announcement during the game in honor of all our military heroes. The Purdue "All-American" Marching Band also will perform a special military tribute during halftime.

Show your support by donating Military Appreciation Day tickets for our local military personnel and family members. Call Alicia Spack of Purdue Sports Properties at 765-494-9476 for more information.
