WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - As we prepare for the 2012 Purdue football season, the Boilermakers will host the third-annual Meet the Team event on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the north plaza area of Ross-Ade Stadium. There is no charge for admission, and the event features free food and drink as well as a chance to interact with the 2012 Purdue football team.
This year's menu features pork burgers, courtesy of Follett's and the Tippecanoe County Pork Producers; chips, courtesy of Jays; ice cream, courtesy of Ice Cream Specialties in Lafayette; and assorted Coke products (while supplies last). The team will be available for autographs from 11:30 a.m. to noon and from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m., with a short program to separate the two sessions.
Fans, please remember that items autographed by student-athletes are for your personal enjoyment and we ask that you do not sell such autographed items via online auction sites. Selling a current student-athletes autograph is impermissible according to the NCAA and could compromise the eligibility of your favorite Boilermaker football players.
The pep rally program will be emceed by the radio play-by-play voice of the Boilermakers, Tim Newton, and will include comments from head coach Danny Hope and a few Boilermaker standouts. Also in attendance will be the Purdue spirit squad, Purdue Pete, the Boilermaker pep band, the Boilermaker Special and WAZY (96.5 FM), the flagship station of the Purdue Radio Network.
In addition to interaction with the Boilermakers, there will be various inflatables and games on hand, Follett's will have the latest Purdue gear available for purchase and the Purdue athletic ticket office will have 2012 season tickets and single-game tickets for sale. Fans also can sign up for the Boiler Kids Club and get information on Boilermaker Social Rewards.
Free parking is available in the R Lot, located north of Ross-Ade Stadium.
