WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - In an attempt to create a visual "experience" for a national television audience for the Purdue-Notre Dame football game at Ross-Ade Stadium on Sept. 14, Purdue officials are encouraging fans to wear either gold or black in designated sections, based on where their seats are located.

"We have a special opportunity to play Notre Dame in prime time on national television," head coach Darrell Hazell said. "Let's take advantage of this opportunity to show the college football world how passionate Purdue fans are. Wear either gold or black based on your seat location, and let's make Ross-Ade Stadium look better than it ever has before."

People with tickets in sections 101 through 105 are asked to wear gold, while the Purdue student sections - 106 through 115 - wears black. Sections 116 through 124 will don gold, and sections 125 through 134 go with black.

"Fans across the nation have had fun doing this sort of thing in the past, and we would really like to see it catch on at Purdue," said David Wilson, director of trademark licensing for Purdue. "We would like to see the fans embrace the idea and come to the game wearing the appropriate colors."

Fans in sections 101 through 105 and 116 through 124 are asked to wear gold Sept. 14.

Specially designed t-shirts promoting this year's "One Brick Higher" theme are available in gold and black colors at the Purdue Team Store at Ross-Ade Stadium.

The shirts also are available at select local retailers in the Lafayette-West Lafayette area, including Dick's, Finish Line, Follett's, Purdue Pride, University Book Store and University Spirit, along with Wal-Mart stores throughout Central and Northwest Indiana.

Online sales are handled through the athletics department official store.

Proceeds from the sale of the shirts go to the 12th Boiler Scholarship Fund in the John Purdue Club to help endow a Purdue football scholarship.

Tickets for the game are available as part of the Purdue season-ticket package, 4-game mini plans or single-game sales. The easiest way to order is online - to do so, simply click here.
