WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue football team had its first two-a-day of practices on Thursday. The Boilermakers came out in the morning in helmets and shoulder pads before returning in the afternoon in full gear.
Head coach Danny Hope was pleased with the energy in the morning session as well as the defensive execution in the evening session. One reason that the defense looked so good was the play of defensive back Ricardo Allen which Coach Hope said is as good as he has ever seen out of the junior.
The offense did have bright spots as well especially with wide receiver Antavian Edison. Coach Hope is very pleased with the senior for his leadership, academics, and play on the field. Gabe Holmes is also much improved on the offensive end as he put together a solid two-a-day.
The Boilermakers will have their annual media on Friday.
Boilermaker All-Access caught up with Coach Hope after practice and the full interview can be found below including mentions of several youngsters that have impressed thus far in camp.
