WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Boilermakers had their first two-a-day of practice for the year on Thursday. The team practiced outside in the rain for the morning session and moved indoors for the afternoon.
The morning session was in full pads and featured some hard collisions between running backs and linebackers while the afternoon session was in helmets and shoulder pads. Head coach Darrell Hazell thinks that his team is getting much better, but there is still a long time before the season opener at Cincinnati on Aug. 31.
Freshman quarterback Danny Etling spoke with Boilermaker All-Access after practice and talked about his progression from the spring to this fall among other topics. Frankie Williams also stopped by to talk about his new role this season in the defensive backfield. Those interviews as well as one with Coach Hazell can be found below.
The Boilermakers return to practice on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Bimel Practice Complex unless weather forces them inside. The practice is open to the public, though video and photography are not permitted.
