WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Rimington Trophy Committee has released its 2014 Fall Watch List and Purdue junior center Robert Kugler is one of 66 listed. Kugler has started 19 consecutive games, dating back to his redshirt freshman year when he made his first career start at Ohio State. The athletes included on the list have demonstrated excellence at the center position and shown to be a team leader.

The 15-year old award is presented annually to the Most Outstanding Center in NCAA Divison I-A. Since its inception, the trophy has raised more than $2.5 million for the cystic fibrosis community. The award is overseen by the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which is committed to finding a cure to the disease.

The award is named after Dave Rimington, a consensus first-team All-American center in 1981 and 1982 when he played at the University of Nebraska. For more information about the Rimington Trophy and the full Watch List, visit www.RimingtonTrophy.com.

Kugler, a native of Pittsburgh, came to Purdue in 2011 originally as a tight end. He made the switch to center during his redshirt year and started the final seven games of his redshirt freshman season. Last year, Kugler started all 12 games.

The SEC and Big Ten dominate the 2014 Watch List with 11 and 10 individuals mentioned from each conference, respectively.

Kugler joins Akeem Hunt as Boilermakers already on Watch Lists. Hunt was named to the Hornung Award Watch List last week.
