WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue football Black & Gold Game will be played Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium with a modified scoring system.
The offense will be credited with the standard six points for a touchdown and three points for a field goal.
The defense will be credited with three points for recovering a turnover and six points if the turnover is returned for a touchdown. In addition, the defense can earn one point for preventing the offense from gaining a first down on a series.
No points will be awarded on special teams, other than field goals.
The game begins at 1 p.m., and each quarter will be played with a 27-minute running clock. Former Boilermaker players, coaches and managers will be introduced after the first and third quarters, and the four division winners of the Purdue Punt, Pass and Kick contest (men's open, women's open, fraternity and sorority) will compete at halftime.
