WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-70s brought the Boilermakers outside for Tuesday’s practice. The team was in full pads at the Bimel Practice Complex.

The quarterbacks and kickers had to battle strong winds all afternoon. Balls were often just over or underthrown because of the adverse conditions. The defense was able to take advantage on multiple situations and came up with a handful of interceptions throughout the practice.

The defense got after it as the group mixed in different blitzes and coverages. The offense was unable to score in the two two-minute drill chances it had at the end of the practice. The first unit, led by Rob Henry, turned the ball over on downs while the second unit, quarterbacked by Danny Etling, was stalled by an interception.

Boilermaker All-Access was on hand for the practice and caught up with quarterback Austin Appleby and defensive end Ryan Russell afterwards. Defensive line coach Rubin Carter also talked to the media.
