WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue football program held its second scrimmage of the spring and played outside in Ross-Ade for the first time under head coach Jeff Brohm. The 100-plus plays from scrimmage featured a number of highlights on both sides of the ball and in the kicking game.
“I thought it was a good scrimmage. I think we got a lot out of it,” Brohm said. “There were pluses and minuses, like every scrimmage, and there were a few people that emerged and found a way to make some plays.”
Quarterbacks David Blough, Elijah Sindelar and Jared Sparks combined to throw for 363 yards and four touchdowns on the day, with Sparks adding a 56-yard touchdown run to boot. Running back Richie Worship rushed 10 times for 49 yards and pair of scores for the offense, while wide receiver Jackson Anthrop had a scrimmage-high five receptions for 46 yards and one touchdown.
Defensive standouts included a Fred Brown interception on the first play of the two-minute drill, a pair of sacks by Danny Ezechukwu and an outstanding performance by Antoine Miles who had at least one sack, two tackles for loss and a PBU on the day.
In the kicking game, J.D. Dellinger made both of his field goals attempts, including a 55-yarder.
The Boilermakers have two practices remaining before the Spring Game on April 8.
