WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -  Good Friday brought temperatures in the 50s to campus and the Boilermakers took full advantage, heading outside to the Bimel Practice Complex for the first time this spring.

Specialists took center stage with a kicking scrimmage rounding out the day's activities.  On the final play of the kicking scrimmage, a Paul Griggs field goal from more than 40 yards out deflected in off the upright to give his team the victory.

It drew comparisons to last season's game-winner against Iowa from spectators and media members alike.  The kick propelled Griggs' team to a victory over the other squad, led by fellow place kicker Sam McCartney.  There was a lot of good-natured celebrating after the kick clanged through and the team headed to the weekend on a high note.

After practice, Boilermaker All-Access caught up with Griggs, McCartney and punter Cody Webster as well as offensive line coach Jim Bridge to talk about the team's progress.

The Boilermakers are back in action next week, as anticipation builds for the April 13 spring game in Ross-Ade Stadium.
