Head football coach Jeff Brohm inked his first recruiting class at Purdue yesterday. Here's a quick look at how the class breaks down.

Class Size: 24 players with six early enrollees
States Covered: 8 (California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee)
Position Breakdown: Offensive Linemen -- 5; Wide Receivers -- 5; Defensive Linemen -- 4; Defensive Backs -- 4; Linebackers -- 3; Quarterbacks -- 2; Tight Ends -- 1

Class Notes
• The class played for teams that averaged more than eight wins per school last season
• All of the high school recruits earned some sort of postseason recognition, including 11 all-state honorees
• The offensive skill position recruits combined for 123 touchdowns in 2016
• Before getting started in head strength & conditioning coach Justin Lovett's program, the five offensive line recruits average 277 pounds per man
• Keyron Catlett (Class5A-District One) and Derrick Barnes (Class 2A-District Six) were both named a District Player of the Year in 2016
• The defensive recruits combined for at least 10 interceptions and 27 sacks last season
• The five wide receivers totaled 216 receptions for 3,813 yards in 2016, an average of 17.7 yards per catch
• Two sets of recruits head to Purdue after having played high school ball together. Wide receiver Keyron Catlett and defensive back Kenneth Major were teammates at Christian County High School in Covington, Kentucky, while defensive back Jacob Abrams and offensive lineman Mark Stickford were teammates at Carmel High School in Indiana
• Carmel won the 2016 Indiana Class 6A state championship
• Both quarterback recruits have roots in the NFL. Nick Sipe is the nephew of former Cleveland Browns quarterback and 1980 National Football League Most Valuable Player Brian Sipe. Griffin Alstott's father, Mike, Purdue's all-time leading rusher with 3,635 career yards and played 12 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which included a Super Bowl XXXVII victory in 2003
• Isaac Zico was an honorable mention National Junior College Athletic Association All-American
• Two recruits (Darius Pittman and Viktor Beach) competed in all-star games (O-D All-America Game and North American Championship)
