WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Fresh off an exciting 38-35 victory over Arizona in the 2017 Foster Farms Bowl, the Purdue football program looks with renewed vigor towards the 2018 season. Under popular second-year head coach Jeff Brohm, the Boilermakers will open the season with four straight home games, including the opener vs. Northwestern on a Thursday night.
Purdue will square off against seven schools that advanced to bowl games last year, including four that won 10 or more games in 2017. The opener against Northwestern on Aug. 30 will mark the first time Purdue will start a season against a Big Ten opponent since squaring off against Michigan State to begin the 1996 campaign. The Boilermakers will face both Big Ten division champions in Wisconsin and Ohio State, as well as Michigan State and Indiana from the East Division.
In non-conference action, the Boilermakers will play Eastern Michigan for the first time since 2012, host a rematch of last season's 35-3 Purdue victory at Missouri and take on Boston College for the first time on the gridiron.
Season-ticket information is expected to be announced later this week.
