Purdue is 5-3 (2-2 Big Ten) and plays host to Penn State next Saturday, Oct. 28. Kickoff is set for noon, and the game will be televised by ABC. Mike Phipps, a member of the College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2006, will be honored at halftime.

Today's game captains for the Boilermakers were George Hall and Greg Orton, joining season captains Mike Otto and Anthony Spencer.

Chris Summers' 47-yard field goal in the first quarter was a season long. His previous best was 44 yards at Iowa.

Ryan Baker picked up the first interception of his career in the second quarter.

Baker's interception was the eighth by the Boilermakers in 2006 - by eight different players.

Dorien Bryant caught five passes, increasing his career total to 164. Bryant is now tied with Brian Alford (1994-97) for eighth on the Purdue career receptions list. Next on the list is Chris Daniels (1996-99) with 170.

The three points scored by Purdue are the fewest by a Boilermaker team since losing 31-3 to Michigan on Oct. 25, 2003.
