Football Game Notes - At Penn State

Boilermakers head to Happy Valley for the first time since 2007

Fifth-year running back Sean Matti passed away on July 3, 2011. The Shoreview, Minn., native was extremely dedicated to his teammates and his work ethic was beyond reproach. He will be missed by his family, friends, coaches and teammates. The Boilermakers have dedicated their season in his memory.

2011: Had 30 yards rushing on 11 carries and caught two passes for 32 yards in the annual Black and Gold spring game.

2010: Did not appear in games, member of the scout team ... had 27 yards rushing on five carries and caught two passes for eight yards, including a three-yard touchdown reception, in the annual Black and Gold spring game.

2009: Did not appear in games, member of the scout team.

2008: Did not appear in games , member of the scout team.

2007: Did not appear in games after joining team as a walkon.

High School: Earned all-state, all-metro and all-conference honors after totaling 150 tackles and 12 sacks as senior ... named Suburban East Conference Defensive Player of the Year and team Defensive Player of the Year ... captain of sectional championship team ... all-state and all-conference pick after amassing 120 tackles his junior season ... coach was Chris Simdorn ... also captain of track and field - through shot and discus... set school and section record in discus.
