In his third year as a graduate assistant coach is Cody Deti, who will again work with the Purdue defense. Deti again will help coach the linebackers in 1999 after coaching the defensive backs during his initial season.
Before joining the Boilermaker coaching staff, Deti served as a student assistant coach for Wyoming from 1994-96.
A native of Laramie, Wyo., Deti was a defensive back for Wyoming in 1992 and 1993. The Cowboys won the Western Athletic Conference championship, posted an 8-4 record and played in the Copper Bowl his final season.
Deti comes from a family rich in football tradition, spanning 54 years. His grandfather John Sr. was the head coach at Laramie High for 33 years, and is a member of the National High School Coaches Hall of Fame. His father John Jr. is now in his 21st season as Laramie High's head coach. Cody earned a bachelor's degree in health sciences teaching from Wyoming in 1997.
