  • Totaled 543 NCAA Division I wins to rank 42nd all-time in NCAA history
  • Recorded 872 victories at all levels of competition as a head coach
  • Six national coach of the year awards
  • Seven Big Ten coach of the year awards, a conference record
  • Six Big Ten championships
  • From 1994 to 1996, headed one of two programs in Big Ten history to win three-straight outright conference championships
  • Won an Olympic gold medal in the 2000 games as assistant coach on the men's basketball team
