Purdue Hosts Final Non-Conference Game Of 2006-07 Season
Purdue and Southeast Missouri State meet in the final non-conference game of the 2006-07 season on Saturday, Dec. 30, at 7 p.m. ET in Mackey Arena.
The Boilermakers are coming off an 89-70 loss at Indiana State on Thursday night. Purdue is seeking its 15th-straight home non-conference win.
Southeast Missouri State is coming off an 87-71 loss at Iowa State on Dec. 23. The Redhawks are 1-6 away from home this season.
This will be the second meeting between the two teams.
A Purdue Win Would ...
-Improve Purdue to 11-3 for first time since the 2002-03 season.
-Improve Purdue to 9-0 in home games this season.
-Give Purdue its 15th-straight home win in a non-conference game.
-Make Purdue 9-0 at home to begin the season for the first time since the 2002-03 season.

Purdue-Southeast Missouri State Connections
-Southeast Missouri State has two players who hail from the state of Indiana. Freshman Marcus Rhodes is from Gary, while freshman Herbert Terry hails from Indianapolis.
-Southeast Missouri State coach Scott Edgar and Purdue head coach Matt Painter both spent time in the Ohio Valley. Edgar was head coach at Murray State from 1991 to 1995. Painter was an assistant coach at Eastern Illinois from 1995 to 1998.
Purdue Versus The Ohio Valley Conference
Purdue's game against Southeast Missouri State will be its 13th game against a Ohio Valley Conference opponent. The Boilermakers are 12-0 against the league.
Purdue has faced Southeast Missouri State only once.
The last time the Boilermakers faced an Ohio Valley Conference opponent was a 62-54 win over Tennessee-Martin on Dec. 28, 2005 in Mackey Arena.
Purdue has faced every school in the league with the exception of Eastern Kentucky, Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech
The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks
-Southeast Missouri State is 3-10 on the season. It is 1-4 on the road and 0-2 on neutral courts.
-The Redhawks have two players averaging in double-figure scoring. Oklahoma transfer Brandon Foust leads the team in scoring with 11.3 points per game. David Johnson is averaging 10.3 points per outing. Both players average a team-high 27.3 minutes per game.
-The Redhawks have already played in five conference games. They are 1-4 in those outings, including an 0-2 mark on the road.
-Southeast Missouri State finished the 2005-06 season with a 7-20 record. This is head coach Scott Edgar's first season at the helm of the program. Last season, Edgar was an assistant coach at Tennessee under Bruce Pearl.
My Indiana Home - In December Anyway
Purdue has not left the state of Indiana to play a basketball game in the month of December.
In addition to six home games in Mackey Arena, Purdue faced Butler in the Wooden Tradition in Indianapolis on Dec. 16 and traveled to Indiana State on Dec. 28.
The Boilermakers are 8-0 at home this season and have won their last 14 home non-conference games.
Indiana State Game Recap
Marico Stinson scored a career-high 24 points off the bench to lead Indiana State to an 89-70 victory over Purdue.
Carl Landry scored 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting to lead the Boilermakers in their first game of the season on an opponent's home court. Purdue lost for the second time in its last 10 games despite shooting 24-of-45 (53 percent) from the floor.
Indiana State never trailed in the first half and went on a 15-1 run over the final 3:20 to take a 46-31 halftime lead. The Sycamores shot 15-of-27 (56 percent) from the floor and 5-of-7 from three-point range in the first half.
Stinson scored 12 of his points in the second half and hit two three-pointers during a 12-7 Indiana State run over the final 4:16.
Indiana State outrebounded Purdue 34-23 and outscored the Boilermakers 19-4 in second-chance points.
The Purdue-Southeast Missouri State Series
Purdue and Southeast Missouri State will be meeting for only the second time. Here are a few notes on the series:
-Purdue leads the series 1-0.
-Purdue won the only meeting, a 70-54 win on Dec. 22, 1984, in West Lafayette.
Ten And Counting
Purdue's 79-61 win over Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Dec. 22, was its 10th of the season, surpassing its total on nine from the entire 2005-06 season.
The Boilermakers combined for 16 wins during the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons.
The last time Purdue won 10 games by the end of December was during the 1998-99 season.
Winning In The Non-Conference
Purdue's win on Dec. 22 over Texas A&M Corpus Christi was its 10th of the non-conference season.
Last season, the Boilermakers went 6-6 during the non-conference season.
Over the last five seasons, Purdue has averaged only 7.4 non-conference wins.
The last time the Boilermakers won 10 non-conference games was during the 2003-04 season.
We're Going Streaking
Purdue has won its last 14 home games against non-conference opponents.
Since Mackey Arena opened in 1967, the Boilermakers have won more than 14-straight home non-conference games only five times.
Turnovers In Check
Purdue is taking much better care of the basketball. The Boilermakers average 14.2 turnovers per game. Last season, they averaged 17.7 turnovers per game.
Purdue has committed 31 turnovers in the last three games. The Boilermakers had nine turnovers against Wagner after committing only one team turnover in the first half. The starting five did not commit a single turnover in the win over the Seahawks.
Against Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Dec. 22, the Boilermakers committed a season-low seven turnovers.
Carl Landry - Big Ten Player Of The Year Candidate
Senior Carl Landry is one of the nation's top power forwards and one of the favorites for Big Ten Player of the Year.
The 6-foot-7 Milwaukee native averaged 18.2 points and 7.1 rebounds in his first season at the Div. I level. His 2005-06 season was cut short after he decided to redshirt to rehab his knee. Landry suffered a torn ACL in his right knee on Feb. 26, 2005.
Landry was named second team All-Big Ten as a junior. Below are a few accomplishments by Landry through 12 games this season.
-Averaging 20.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
-Named to the EA-Sports Maui Invitational All-Tournament team after leading the field in scoring and rebounding with 22.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
-Selected as Big Ten Player of the Week on back-to-back-to-back weeks (Nov. 25, Dec. 4, Dec. 11).
-Has scored in double figures in 37 of 43 career games, including all 13 games this season.
-Is shooting 64.1 percent from the field.
-Scored a season-high 30 points on 10-of-13 shooting against Oklahoma.
-In less than two seasons, ranks 55th on Purdue's all-time leading scorer list.
-Has posted eight career double-doubles, the most recent a 23-point, 12-rebound performance against undefeated Missouri on Dec. 9.
David Teague - The Newest 1,000-Point Member
Senior David Teague became Purdue's 41st member of the 1,000-point club on Dec. 19, after a 15-point outing against Wagner.
Teague is the most experience member of the Purdue roster. He's played in 100 games with 72 starts under his belt. He missed the 2005-06 season after tearing the ACL in his left knee.
Below is a look at Teague's season after 13 games.
-Teague ranks 40th on Purdue's all-time scoring list with 1,028 points.
-Ranks third on Purdue's three-point field goals made list with 181. He recently passed current Purdue assistant coach Cuonzo Martin on the list.
-Has scored in double figures in 28 of last 39 games.
-Averages a team-high 28.5 minutes per game and usually guards the opposing team's best perimeter scorer.
The 1,000-Point Club
On Dec. 19, senior David Teague scored his 1,000th career point in a win over Wagner. He became Purdue's 41st player to reach that mark. Purdue ranks 10th among Div. I schools in 1,000-point scorers.
Currently, Teague ranks 40th on the all-time scoring list and needs two points to pass Wayne Walls.
The last player to eclipse the 1,000-point mark was Kenneth Lowe, who totaled 1,076 points from 1999 to 2004.
Everyone's Talking About Kramer
Freshman guard Chris Kramer has been a fan favorite and all-around solid player for the Boilermakers.
Through only nine games, Kramer already has racked up 23 steals, by far a team best. Against Wagner on Dec. 19, he recorded six steals, one shy of the Purdue single-game record.
In addition he ranks fourth on the team in scoring with 7.2 points per game.
Landry Named Big Ten
Player Of The Week, Makes History
Purdue senior forward Carl Landry was named the Big Ten Player of the Week for the third-straight week on Dec. 11. He is the first player in conference history to earn the award three-straight weeks.
He also earned the honor on Nov. 27 and Dec. 4. It was fourth time overall he earned the conference's top weekly honor. He also was named player of the week on Jan. 3, 2005.
For his third honor, Landry averaged a double-double with 22.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
Glenn Robinson earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors five times during the 1993-94 season. He earned the award in back-to-back weeks, but never three weeks in a row. Indiana's Kirk Haston won the award four times during the 2000-01 season. Landry became the 15th player to have earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors three times in a season, the most recent coming by Indiana's Marco Killingsworth and Michigan State's Paul Davis during the 2004-05 season.
For his first honors, he averaged 22.0 points and 8.7 rebounds in three games at the Maui Invitational. For the week, Landry shot 67 percent (22-of-33) from the field and 73 percent (22-of-30) from the foul line, while adding four steals and three blocks. He posted a Big Ten season-best 30 points in a 74-71 victory over Oklahoma. He also notched his first double-double of the season and seventh of his career with 22 points and 10 rebounds against DePaul.
A week later, Landry averaged 19.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in wins over No. 25 Virginia and Delaware State.
For the week, he shot better than 60 percent from the floor (14-of-23) and connected on 71.4 percent from the free throw line (10-of-14). He also recorded four assists, two blocks and three steals.

-Carl Landry needs seven more points for 800 in his career. Additionally, he needs two rebounds for 300.
-David Teague is three start away from 75 for his career. He is 71 rebounds away from 500.
-Marcus Green needs 19 points for 250 for his career.
-Chris Lutz needs 61 more points to reach 400. He is 14 rebounds shy of 100 and 22 three-points field goals away from 100.
-Gordon Watt is 22 rebounds away from 100 and 69 points away from 200.
-Chris Kramer is 35 points away from 100 and Keaton Grant is 29 points away from the century mark.
