WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Boilermaker forward Robbie Hummel is named Big Ten Player of the Week for the second consecutive time this year after netting 18 points and pulling down a career-high 14 rebounds to lead Purdue over No. 20 Davidson, 76-58, in the John R. Wooden Tradition at Conseco Fieldhouse on Saturday.
En route to his second double-double of the season, Hummel's performance came on six-of-11 shooting from the field, including two-of-four from three-point range, and a perfect four-of-four from the charity stripe. The sophomore added four assists against one turnover, helping Purdue hand Davidson its worst defeat since November of 2006.
It is the third weekly laurel of his career and his second of the season. Purdue has had the Big Ten Player of the Week in three of the last four weeks (E'Twaun Moore on Dec. 1, Hummel on Dec. 15 and 22).
