WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The No. 15-ranked Purdue men's basketball team closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule this week, hosting Western Illinois on Monday night to begin a "two-game in three-day" stretch for the Boilermakers.

Tip from Mackey Arena against the Leathernecks is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET, and the contest will be carried on the Big Ten Network (BTN).

Purdue is coming off an 86-81 victory over No. 21-ranked Notre Dame, erasing a 17-point deficit against the Irish. The Boilermakers already have two comebacks of 13 points or more this year, rallying against both Georgia State and Notre Dame to earn the victories.

While shining offensively, the Boilermakers got it done with defense on Saturday in Indianapolis. Purdue held the Irish to just 29 second-half points after giving up 52 in the initial 20 minutes. Purdue has held all 10 possible foes under their pregame scoring average, six of them held more than 12 points under their scoring average.

The Boilermakers received dominating performances from both Caleb Swanigan and Vincent Edwards in the victory. Swanigan tallied 26 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots, becoming the fourth player in the country this year to reach those marks. Meanwhile, Edwards recorded his third career double-double with a 20-point, 10-rebound performance off the bench. Among his 10 rebounds, six were on the offensive end.

Purdue closes out its non-conference portion of the schedule on Wednesday, Dec. 21, hosting Norfolk State at 7 p.m., at Mackey Arena.
