WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The No. 17-ranked Purdue men’s basketball team wraps up play in the Cancun Challenge on Saturday as NJIT visits Mackey Arena. The Boilermakers won the Riviera title in Cancun on Wednesday with a 96-71 thrashing of Auburn.

Tip is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET and will be carried online by ESPN3. Due to contractual obligations with Purdue football, the basketball game will provided via online stream only on Stretch Internet.

Purdue is coming off its second straight in-season tournament title with an impressive 96-71 win over Auburn in the Cancun Challenge title game Wednesday night in Mexico. The Boilermakers outscored Auburn 53-30 in the second half, by using a crushing display of perimeter shooting.

Purdue shot 64.3 percent from the field, the highest percentage in the Matt Painter era, and went a blistering 17-of-26 (.654) from long distance, the second-most 3-pointers made in a game in school history. The 64.3 percent shooting was the 19th-best percentage in school history and Purdue shot 76.0 percent in the second half, the 14th-best performance in a half in school history.

Caleb Swanigan was named tournament MVP after averaging 16.0 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the three tournament games so far. Isaac Haas joined him on the all-tournament team after averaging 15.7 points and 5.0 rebounds, while shooting 15-of-21 (.714) from the field.

Purdue is averaging 86.0 points per game while shooting 51.9 percent from the field and 44.2 percent from 3-point range through five games so far. Purdue is 15th nationally in field goal percentage and 12th in 3-point percentage.
