WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The No. 20-ranked Purdue men’s basketball team opens its 120th season of competition, hosting SIU-Edwardsville at 8 p.m. ET, at Mackey Arena on Friday night.

The game will be streamed online on BTN2Go.com, via BTN Plus. On the radio waves, Larry Clisby, Rob Blackman and Ralph Taylor will handle the call on the Purdue Radio Network.

Purdue will welcome back to the sidelines 2008 grad Tarrance Crump, who is an assistant coach with SIUE. He scored 338 points with 99 assists and 92 rebounds in 67 career games, playing in two NCAA Tournaments.

Looking Back
• Purdue went 2-0 against exhibition competition, defeating Indiana State (94-72) and Carroll College (Mont.) (98-71) to prepare for the 2017-18 season.
• Purdue averaged 96.0 points per game and shot 53.7 percent from the field in the two games. The 98 points against Carroll College were the second most scored under Painter in exhibition games.
Carsen Edwards led five players in double figures during the exhibition season, averaging 17.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Vincent Edwards (13.5), Isaac Haas (13.5), Dakota Mathias (10.5) and Matt Haarms (10.0) all averaged double figures as well.
• Purdue is now 24-0 under Matt Painter in exhibition games, winning by an average of 25.9 points.
• In years that Purdue won its exhibition game opener by at least 22 points under Painter (22-point win vs. Indiana State), the Boilermakers advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
