WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.- The 2008-09 men's basketball season tips off Friday when the Boilermakers take on Florida Southern in an exhibition game at Mackey Arena.
The game will not be televised, but for any Boilermaker fans who can not make it to the arena for the contest, there is another alternative.
The Big Ten Network will debut its new video streaming initiative with the event, allowing Purdue fans from around the world to tune in. The game will be shown on video.bigtennetwork.com beginning at 9 p.m.
It is the first of 12 events to be streamed this season involving the Purdue men's and women's basketball teams. All of the streamed events will be available free of charge and the home games will feature video from the Mackey Arena videoboard as well as audio from the Purdue Radio Network broadcasts.
In addition to the events being shown live through the Web site, all games will be archived as well and will be available on demand.
