WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - When the Purdue men's basketball team takes the floor for their season opener on Nov. 1, there will be thousands of dedicated fans on hand to cheer for their team.
Perhaps none more dedicated than the 1,800 members of the Purdue Paint Crew. The student section, which consists of season ticket holders willing to committ to the group's by-law's, began its sign-up period Wednesday at the Athletic Ticket Office.
Some fans actually began standing in line nearly 12 hours before the sign-up period actually began, spending the night outdoors in their lawn chairs for the right to be amongst the first to join this year's addition of the Paint Crew.
On Wednesday morning, Boilermaker All-Access caught up with a few of the dedicated Paint Crew members to see exactly what motivated them to become part of this fast-growing student group.

All 5,500 student tickets for the 2007-08 men's basketball season have sold out and only the first 1,800 Paint Crew members will be accepted. The remaining student seats will be assigned after the Paint Crew has filled up.
Paint Crew sign up continues Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Athletic Ticket Office. However, spots are going fast. The section was more than half full after just the first 5 hours of the sign-up period.
