WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Purdue men's basketball team has announced its promotion schedule for all 19 home games to be played in Mackey Arena for the 2013-14 season.
The ticket theme of the season is "Legends of Mackey" and 2,000 fans will receive a Legends of Mackey Arena poster during the Michigan game to be played on Feb. 26. The poster will be a replica of the season ticket sheet that features 19 former Boilermaker stars who excelled in Mackey Arena.
Related to that theme will be Joe Barry Carroll Night and Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson Night. For Joe Barry Carroll Night against Indiana on Feb. 15, 2,000 bobbleheads will be distributed. For Glenn Robinson Night against Michigan State on Feb. 20, 3,000 bobbleheads will be handed out.
The highly-successful repeat of T-Shirt Night will be on Dec. 4 for the Boilermakers' showdown with Boston College in the ACC / Big Ten Challenge. Last year's T-shirt Night came against Ohio State and drew rave reviews from fans and media across the country. This year, almost 15,000 t-shirts will be distributed to help create a raucous atmosphere for the nationally-televised contest.
Several of this year's promotions will be geared to families and youth. For the regular-season home opener against Northern Kentucky on Nov. 8, four tickets in the upper deck and four $5 food vouchers can be purchased for just $80. Additional tickets with the food voucher can be purchased for just $20, as part of Family Pack Night.
Family Pack Night will also be available for the Jan. 12 contest against Nebraska.
For the Nov. 24 contest against Siena, Kids Club members can receive two free tickets to the contest and following the game, members can come down to the floor and shoot a free throw and lay-up on Keady Court.
The Jan. 18 contest against Penn State is also designated as a Kids Club game.
The Eastern Michigan contest on Dec. 7 is designated as Youth Day, when fans can purchase a $5 upper-level or value-reserved seat for kids with the purchase of an adult ticket. The contest will feature a postgame youth clinic at Cardinal Court and autographs with select players.
The Nov. 13 tilt against Central Connecticut will be featured as Military Appreciation Night, where military members (past or present) can purchase upper-level tickets for just $20.
The Jan. 25 contest against Wisconsin is designated as Social Media Night, where various in-game promotions will be conducted through Purdue's social media channels.
Jimmy Buffett Night returns to Mackey Arena for the Feb. 5 match-up against Minnesota. A Jimmy Buffett theme night with music, activities and giveaways are planned.
The Maryland-Eastern Shore (Dec. 17) and Ohio State (Dec. 31) contests are designated as Break Games. Since Purdue students will be on break, fans can purchase tickets located in the student section for just $10 for the UMES contest and $18 for the Big Ten opener against Ohio State.
Lastly, for the Nov. 17 game against Rider, CSSAC members can purchase $15 upper-level tickets.
Leading up to Thanksgiving, fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate for contests against Rider (Nov. 17), Eastern Illinois (Nov. 20) and Siena (Nov. 24).
Tickets for the exhibition games against Indianapolis (Oct. 30) and Wayne State, Neb., (Nov. 4) are on sale for as little as $5 for students and $10 for the general public.
In addition to the promotions listed above, several season and single-game ticket offers are still available by calling 1-800-49-SPORT or visiting online at PurdueSports.com(.) Over 11,000 season tickets have been sold already and single-game tickets will go on sale to the general public on Oct. 15.
