WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue head men's basketball coach Matt Painter will once again team up with Illinois head coach, and former Purdue assistant, Bruce Weber to host the Coaches vs. Cancer Covington Classic on Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 6:30-10 p.m. ET. The sixth-annual event, held in association with the American Cancer Society, will again be held at the Beef House in Covington, Ind.

The special guests for the 2011 Covington Classic have yet to be determined.

Painter guided the Boilermakers to a 26-8 record and their fifth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance in 2011. Purdue is one of just eight Division I programs to have won at least 25 games in each of the last four seasons.

The Muncie, Ind., native won his second-consecutive Big Ten Coach of the Year award in 2011, making him one of just four men in the history of the league win the award at least three times. The only coaches who have earned the honor more times than Painter are legendary former Purdue coach Gene Keady and former Indiana coach Bob Knight.

Doors to the Beef House will open at 6:30 p.m. ET, with dinner to be served at 7:30 p.m. ET. The event will once again include live and silent auctions.

Tickets are available for $75 per person, and can be purchased by contacting Lindsay Walls of the American Cancer Society at (765) 455-9905. Credit card orders can be processed over the phone, and checks can be made out to American Cancer Society Coaches vs. Cancer.
