WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Purdue men's basketball team returned from its 10-day trip to Spain with even more team chemistry and a 4-0 record that showcased the team's depth and versatility.

Purdue left West Lafayette on Aug. 7, and returned to the States 10 days later on Aug. 17. In between, the Boilermakers visited Madrid, Toledo, Valencia and Barcelona and saw several of the country's landmarks such as the Prado Museum, la Sagrada de Familia, Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and the 1992 Olympic stadium.

On the court, the Boilermakers showcased a versatile inside-out attack featuring Caleb Swanigan, P.J. Thompson and Carsen Edwards. Swanigan led the Boilermakers by averaging 18.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. Edwards scored 65 points in 76 minutes, averaging 16.3 points per game while shooting 64.9 percent from the field. Thompson shot 68.8 percent (11-of-16) from 3-point range and led the team in assists with 17.

Members of the team were allowed to return to their hometowns for a few days before classes start next Monday.
