TAIPEI – Team USA enjoyed its second day in Taipei with a spirited morning practice, followed by more sight-seeing during the afternoon.

The squad, represented entirely by the Purdue men’s basketball team, had an early wake-up call for practice that started at 8 a.m., local time. The team went through a 90-minute workout that featured multiple transition drills and team instruction.

Following lunch, the team then hit downtown Taipei visiting the historic Guanin Temple, where the team was fortunate to be there during the World University Games torch relay. The team was hounded for pictures and interview requests and were a big hit with the Taiwanese residents and media in attendance.

Following the temple visit, the squad proceeded to visit massive Grand Hotel, which has hosted more presidents than any foreign hotel in the world, even receiving a tour of the prestigious Eisenhower suite.

The team will practice again Thursday morning before visiting one of the world’s largest shopping centers and a night market during the evening.
