WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Every few days, PurdueSports.com will introduce a new member of the Purdue men's basketball team. The first feature subject is 6-7, 220-pound freshman Vince Edwards from Middletown, Ohio.
As a high school senior, Edwards was ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the state of Ohio and a four-star recruit by ESPN.com. He averaged 22.3 points, 12.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game en route to first-team Division I All-State and Greater Miami Conference Player of the Year accolades as both a junior and senior.
Edwards' greatest trait on the court is his versatility. He has the skill set to hit the outside shot, while also posting up smaller defenders. He also has the ability to find the open man as he mentions his favorite basketball memory growing up, coming on an assist in the waning moments of the 2014 district final.Let's get to know Vince Edwards a little bit better.
