Team USA to Host Team Canada Twice

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's basketball team, the USA National Team for the World University Games, will host Team Canada in a pair of exhibition games Aug. 11 and 12. The games will serve as a tune-up for the team's participation in the World University Games in Taipei in mid-August.

The first game will be played Friday, Aug. 11, at 7 p.m. ET at Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana. The second game will be contested Saturday, Aug. 12, at 4 p.m. ET at Lafayette Jefferson High School in Lafayette, Indiana. Team USA's travel party will then leave from Chicago late in the day Aug. 13 for travel to Taipei.

Tickets to the exhibition game in Carmel are all general admission and available for $20 for adults and $10 for youth (18 and under). Tickets for the Lafayette Jefferson game are also general admission and available for $20 (lower), $10 (upper adult) and $5 (upper youth). Proceeds from the game will help fund Team USA's trip to Taipei.

Team USA will open World University Games pool in Taipei on Aug. 20 against Argentina.

The United States International University Sports Federation (US-IUSF) selected the Boilermakers to represent the United States in the World University Games, which takes place Aug. 19 to 30 in Chinese Taipei.

The World University Games, as well as the two exhibition games, will be administered under FIBA rules. The most notable differences from the college game are the four, 10-minute quarters and a 24-second shot clock.
