Painter on Thompson:
"P.J. is a very skilled, quintessential point guard that can dribble, pass and shoot. He has an excellent pull-up jumper and can also hit the three. Perhaps most importantly, P.J. is a coach on the floor. From the moment we started recruiting him, we have been very impressed with his leadership abilities and maturity. We are excited for his future in our program and are thrilled we could land a player like him during the late signing period."
