WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - No. 4-seeded Purdue makes its 29th NCAA Tournament appearance on Thursday, facing a Vermont team that owns the nation's longest win streak (21 games) in the NCAA Midwest Regional first round. Tip is scheduled for 7:27 p.m. ET / 6:27 p.m. CT, in Milwaukee on TruTV.

Team Notes
• Purdue's 29 appearances are the 22nd most in NCAA Tournament history and Purdue's 35 wins and 63 games are the 28th most.
• Purdue returns to Wisconsin for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since its first tournament appearance in 1969. The Boilermakers won two games behind Rick Mount to advance to the 1969 Final Four.
• Purdue is 19-7 all-time in NCAA Tournament first-round games. Since the 1994 season, Purdue is 14-2 in its opening game of the NCAA Tournament.
• Since the start of February, the four teams in this "pod" are a combined 39-6.
• Purdue's nine NCAA Tournament appearances over the last 11 years (since 2006-07) are the 10th most in the country (Duke, Gonzaga, Kansas, Michigan State, Wisconsin - 11; Louisville, North Carolina, Villanova, Xavier - 10).
• Purdue is 1-of-4 Big Ten teams to make each of the last three NCAA Tournaments (Michigan State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Maryland).
• Purdue has won at least 25 games in six of Painter's 12 years at Purdue and in seven of his 13 years as a collegiate head coach (25 at SIU in 2003-04).
• Purdue won its league-best 23rd Big Ten Championship and its 12th outright title this year. Purdue won the league crown by two games.
• Purdue has now won two Big Ten regular-season titles in the last eight years. Only Ohio State (3; 2010, 2011, 2012) has more titles in that span.
• The Boilermakers have been ranked in the AP Top 25 in each of the last 37 polls, the seventh-longest active streak nationally and longest streak in the Big Ten (Wisconsin - 18). The streak of 37 consecutive weeks being ranked is the second-longest streak in school history.
• Purdue is 28-1 since the start of last year when outrebounding opponents by 10 or more. The lone loss came to Minnesota this year.
• Purdue's 81.5 free throw percentage in Big Ten play was the second-best percentage in Big Ten history.
• Purdue ranks in the nation's top 30 in eight statistical categories. The Boilermakers are fourth in assists (18.1), seventh in 3-point percentage (.406), 12th in scoring margin (+13.0), 15th in personal fouls (15.8), 18th in rebound margin (+6.8), 20th in free throw percentage (.764), 21st in assist / turnover ratio (1.38) and 27th in field goal percentage (.480).

Matt Painter has won 65.1 percent of his games at Purdue. Legendary coach Gene Keady won 65.5 percent of his games at Purdue (1981-05).
