With the win, Matt Painter improves to 14-0 in exhibition games as Purdue's head coach. Coach Painter's career exhibition record as a head coach is now 16-0. The win for Purdue is the 19th consecutive exhibition win and improves its overall exhibition record to 53-7. After being tied at 16-16, Purdue went on a 22-2 run spanning 6:52 to end the first half. During the run junior Kelsey Barlow had 10 straight points for Boilermakers, including two scores from behind the arc. The Boilermaker defense was strong forcing 20 turnovers and only allowing 20 field goals for the game. Purdue's biggest lead of the game was 22 points and led throughout the game.
TEAM HIGHS AND LOWS
The Boilermakers did a good job on the offensive glass today, as a team they combined for 15 offensive rebounds. The team's leading offensive rebounder was junior D.J. Byrd. Purdue also won the rebounding battle for the whole game 43 to 36. The team's leading rebounder was freshman Donnie Hale. Purdue had a very balanced scoring effort in which seven of its players had at least seven points. The leading scorer was Barlow who had 12 points for the game. Sophomore Terone Johnson played well in the game. He was one of two players for Purdue that scored in double figures with 10 points. He also had five rebounds.
