  • Purdue big man JaJuan Johnson scored only two first half points while Ohio State ran a 1-3-1 zone for the majority of the first half preventing entry to the Boilermaker center. His lone first half shot attempt was a dunk over 12 minutes into the game.
  • The Boilermakers made 3 of 4 from long distance to open the game before missing their next eight straight. Purdue then hit 7 of 9, including six from junior Robbie Hummel, over a six minute stretch to give Purdue a 12 point lead with a little over a minute left in the first half.'

Individual Season and Career Highs

  • Junior forward Robbie Hummel shattered his career high with 35 points in the contest. The 35 points by Hummel are the most in a single-game by a Purdue player since Carl Landry scored 35 against South Alabama back in 2005.
  • Hummel came into the game averaging only 11.8 career points against the Buckeyes in four prior matchups.
  • Hummel scored 29 first half points, equaling the total scored by the Buckeyes over the half.
  • Hummel also grabbed 10 rebounds to give him his fourth double-double of the season.
  • Ohio State was led by Evan Turner with a career-high of his own in the game. Turner scored 32 points on 11 of 21 shooting, including 9 of 10 from the line. He also pulled down nine rebounds.
  • Turner's 32 points are the most scored by a Purdue opponent since Iowa's Jeff Horner scored 32 against Purdue on February 1, 2006.

Career Accolades

  • Junior forward Robbie Hummel tied a Purdue standard with eight three pointers in the game. He tied the previous record with an astounding eight first half threes. Former Boilermaker Cuonzo Martin previously held the record of eight three pointers in a game, which he set against Kansas in the Sweet 16 in 1994.
