Sydney is the site of the first British colony in Australia, settled in 1788. Today, its population eclipses the 4.25 million mark and is the most populous city in Australia.


Brisbane lays claim to the Australia Zoo, founded by Bob and Lyn Irwin - parents of the late Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter.


Settled in 1876, Cairns has a tropical setting complete with rain forest. The Great Barrier Reef is a quick one-hour boat ride from the city.


West Lafayette is located approximately 9,300 miles from Sydney, the first stop of the trip. All told, the team will spend nearly 36 hours on planes to and from Australia.
