Supervisor of Basketball Operations

Experience:
3rd Season

Kent Williams is in his third season as the supervisor of basketball operations for the Purdue men's basketball team.

Williams joined the Boilermakers after working for TEKsystems in St. Louis as an information technology recruiter.

The second all-time leading scorer at Southern Illinois, Williams played for the Salukis under head coach Bruce Weber from 1999 to 2003. From 2003 to 2004, he played in the National Basketball Developmental League in Fayetteville, N.C.

A native of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Williams prepped at Mt. Vernon High School and finished his career as the school's all-time leading scorer.

Purdue head coach Matt Painter was an assistant at SIU when Williams was a player in the Salukis backcourt.

"We are extremely pleased to have Kent on our staff," said Painter. "He was a great player at Southern Illinois who possessed a tremendous work ethic. That's one of the main reasons he is a great asset to our program."

While at Southern Illinois, Williams was named first team All-Missouri Valley Conference both his junior and senior seasons. He earned second team honors as a sophomore.

Additionally, he was named the Missouri Valley Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2001-02 and 2002-03. Those same seasons, he earned conference first-team scholar-athlete honors.

Williams was named the Missouri Valley Freshman and Newcomer of the Year following the 1999-2000 season.

In 2007, Williams was selected to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Centennial team honoring its top 50 players.

Williams and his wife, Jessica, were married in September.
