EVANSTON, Ill. -- The opener of the Purdue-Northwestern baseball series at Rocky Miller Field Friday has been postponed due to rain until Saturday, when the teams are now scheduled to play a doubleheader at noon (EDT).
Consistent rain showers throughout the day in the Chicagoland area forced the postponement.
The Big Ten Network is still scheduled to provide live coverage of the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, which is still scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. (EDT) regardless of how early game one may finish. Saturday's forecast is much more favorable. The BTN will only televise game one Saturday.
This marks the second weekend in a row and third time in Big Ten Conference play that Purdue will play a weekend doubleheader. The Boilermakers are 7-3 in twinbill action this season.
