Game Day Central | Series Preview | Stadium Dedication Info
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Frigid temperatures coupled with an even colder wind chill have forced the postponement of Friday's Purdue-Nebraska baseball series opener at Alexander Field. The two teams will now play a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Game two of Saturday's doubleheader will not start before 7 p.m. The planned Alexander Field stadium dedication ceremony set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday will be held as planned before game two of the twinbill.
Fans that had tickets for Friday's postponed game can use the tickets to attend either or both games Saturday.
Purdue athletics will offer a free shuttle for all fans from the R Lot north of Ross-Ade Stadium to Alexander Field from 6-10 p.m. A complimentary student shuttle will also be making a loop around campus and offering rides to Alexander Field beginning at 5:45 p.m. The on-campus shuttle picks up and drops off at the Purdue Memorial Union, Earhart Hall, Ford Dining Court and Alexander Field. Parking is also available east of the adjacent Boilermaker Soccer Complex. A paved walkway connects the Soccer Complex parking lot and Alexander Field.
Friday marked the fifth home game for Purdue this season that was altered, canceled or postponed due to inclement weather.
Game two of Saturday's doubleheader will be available via live video webcast at Boilermaker All-Access. Purdue athletics is making an effort to add game one Saturday to the webcast schedule as well.
