WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue baseball's home opener against IPFW this week has been pushed back one day to Wednesday at 5 p.m., head coach Doug Schreiber has announced. Originally scheduled for Tuesday, the game was rescheduled due to overnight flurries in the forecast for Monday along with higher temperatures expected for Wednesday.
Last week, the Boilers' originally scheduled home opener, March 19 against Butler, was rescheduled after the teams agreed to play the March 19 game in Indianapolis. Purdue will now host Butler on Tuesday, April 15.
Tickets to the Tuesday, March 25 game against IPFW will be honored Wednesday. Fans with tickets that can't attend Wednesday's game may exchange them for general admission tickets to any future game this season.
The scheduled Purdue-IPFW game last season (March 27) at Alexander Field was snowed out and canceled.
The Boilermakers have won six straight games vs. IPFW dating back to 2010. Purdue opens Big Ten play this weekend with a three-game series at Illinois.
