WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue baseball opens its home schedule Tuesday with the premiere week at Alexander Field, and Purdue athletics has a number of game day promotions and season-long ticket specials in place for the inaugural season at the new stadium.

General admission tickets for Tuesday's home opener against Illinois-Chicago are specially priced at $1. General admission tickets for future Tuesday midweek games have been specially priced at $2 as part of the "Two Dollar Tuesdays" promotion.

Purdue students with the VIP Card will continue to receive complimentary admission when general admission tickets are available. VIP Card holders are encouraged to acquire to their tickets before the day of the game as well.

The Sunday, May 5 game vs. Southern Illinois has been designated as "Bark at the Park" day. Fans will be permitted to bring their dogs to Alexander Field that day. Certain rules and restrictions apply.

After playing their first 18 games away from campus, the Boilermakers enter their five-game homestand having won four of their last six games. Purdue is the defending Big Ten champion. Ohio State, Northwestern, Nebraska and Iowa visit Alexander Field this spring for Big Ten weekend series.

Senior Robert Ramer is expected to start on the mound for Tuesday's inaugural game at Alexander Field, although he will most likely only pitch the first couple innings. The right-hander also started the final game in the 48-year history of Lambert Field in May of last season. Sean McHughhit a pinch-hit game-tying home run in the ninth inning and the Boilers went on to win the Lambert Field finale in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the 10th.
