WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Boilermaker fans nationwide will have the opportunity to watch the Purdue baseball and softball teams live on the Big Ten Network five times in 2012, with baseball making three appearances on the network and softball taking to the small screen twice.
The Boilermaker softball team will be coming to a TV near you on April 15 and May 11. The Sunday, April 15, home game with Ohio State will air live from the Varsity Softball Complex at 2 p.m. ET. Purdue returns to the network on May 11, when its game with Top 15-ranked Michigan will be broadcast live at 6 p.m.
The Purdue baseball slate features network broadcasts on April 20, May 12 and May 18. The Boilermakers' first conference match up with Nebraska will air live from Lincoln, Neb., at 7:30 p.m. April 20. The series opener will be the first meeting between the teams since 1907 and the first-ever meeting in Lincoln. Purdue's May 12 home game with Michigan will air at noon, while the Boilermakers' road contest with Iowa will be broadcast live at 7:30 p.m. from Iowa City. The Big Ten Tournament will air live in its entirety May 23-27.
Several other games may be streamed live on the internet as part of the 51 baseball and 66 softball games that will appear on the Big Ten Digital Network. That schedule will be announced at a later date.
The Boilermaker baseball and softball teams kick off their 2012 campaigns this weekend in Florida and New Mexico respectively. Live stats for both sports as well as radio broadcasts for baseball will be available at purduesports.com.
