WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Four Purdue baseball games have been selected for Big Ten Network live television coverage and for the first time the Boilermakers' entire home schedule will be available via live video webcasts.
The Big Ten Network will provide live television coverage of Purdue's games on Sunday, April 14 at Illinois, Friday, April 19 vs. Nebraska, Friday, April 26 at Michigan State and Sunday, April 28 at Michigan State. Additionally, the final two weekends of the regular season (May 11-12 and May 16-18) have been designated BTN wild cards and games from Purdue's series at Michigan (May 11-12) or versus Iowa (May 16-18) could be added to the live TV schedule.
The entire Big Ten Tournament, set for May 22-26 at Target Field in Downtown Minneapolis, will also be televised live by the BTN again. The top six teams in the final standings qualify for the Big Ten Tournament. Purdue's five consecutive tournament appearances is the longest active streak in the league.
All live telecasts of game action on the Big Ten Network are also available at BTN2Go.com.
Thanks to the press box amenities at the new Alexander Field stadium facilities, Purdue athletics can now offer live video webcasts of home baseball games. The pay-per-view live webcasts will be available for every home game except the April 19 date against Nebraska televised live by the BTN.
Furthermore, the entire Michigan series (May 10-12) as well as the April 13 game at Illinois will be included in the pay-per-view webcast package. More Big Ten road games could be added to the webcast schedule, which does feature the March 12 and 13 road games at Cincinnati and Louisville as well.
Fans can sign up for the Purdue Big Ten Digital Network package through Boilermaker All-Access at PurdueSports.com for $9.95 monthly or $79.95 yearly. A $14.95 monthly or $119.95 yearly package is also available that gives subscribers access to all games played by Big Ten teams. Nine Purdue games were televised live by the Big Ten Network during the Boilers' 2012 Big Ten championship season, including all six postseason contests. The BTN aired Purdue's series-opening win at Nebraska and the Big Ten clincher versus Michigan. After the Boilers were selected to host an NCAA Regional at U.S. Steel Yard in Gary, Ind., the BTN was granted the rights to televise the Regional and carried NCAA tournament baseball action for the first time in the network's history.
In the Lafayette area, WSHY AM 1410 will continue to offer live radio coverage of more than half of the Boilers' 2013 schedule. Live audio of all games is available for free at Stretch Internet portal via PurdueSports.com.
The Boilermakers open their 2013 season Friday versus Connecticut at the Big East/Big Ten Challenge in Pinellas County, Fla.
