Baseball Rallies Late For 7-3 Win Over Eastern Kentucky

Including back-to-back two-out solo homers, the Purdue baseball team scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to overcame a 3-2 deficit for a series-splitting 7-3 win over Eastern Kentucky (7-7) at Turkey Hughes field on Wednesday.

The Purdue baseball team dropped a 5-2 decision to Eastern Kentucky in the opener of a two-game midweek series at Turkey Hughes Field. The loss bumped the Boilermakers to 3-8 for the year, while EKU snapped a three-game losing streak to improve to 7-6 overall.

Bischoff picks up his second career Player of the Week honor after throwing eight shutout innings in Purdue's 3-0 win over LeMoyne on Friday. The right-hander struck out a season-high 11 batters without allowing a walk, scattering just five hits for a WHIP of .63.

After dropping four one-run games this season, the Purdue baseball team turned the tables in defeating host school Evansville 4-3 in 10 innings in the Dunn Hospitality Classic finale at Braun Stadium on Sunday.
