Scouting Report: Will be used primarily in relief early in the season ... could work his way into starting rotation ... has also seen action in the field ... kicker and punter on football team ... career scoring leader and holds school and Big Ten career records for field goals and kicking points ... recipient of the 2001 Ray Guy Award as the nation?s most oustanding punter ... football team?s first consensus All-American since 1986 ... professional prospect in both football and baseball.

2001: Redshirted.

2000: Named Academic All-Big Ten ... appeared in seven games as a pitcher ... struck out nine batters in 8.2 innings pitched ... threw one inning at Alabama (3/5) ... struck out two in one inning of work vs. Valparaiso (3/22) ... fanned four in 3.2 innings vs. Indiana State (4/18) ... struck out two in two innings against IUPUI (4/25) ... appeared in five games in the field ... walked once in six at-bats.

1999: Named Academic All-Big Ten ... appeared in 13 games with three starts ... posted a 3-2 record with a 5.54 ERA in 26.0 innings ... pitched in six conference games with two starts ... posted a 1-2 mark in league action ... threw two scoreless innings in collegiate debut at Vanderbilt (2/28) ... earned first collegiate victory, allowing one hit in two innings of relief vs. Illinois State (4/21) ... earned win and tossed six shutout innings in start against Xavier (4/28) ... also played first base and batted .333 with one home run and three RBI.

High School: Played for area legion baseball team because high school did not field a team ... went 8-2 with 2.30 ERA and batted .539 with 9 HR and 65 RBI in 1998 ... earned a pair of national accolades in 1998 ... was honorable mention All-America by Collegiate Baseball ... named No. 3 right-handed pitcher in the Rocky Mountain region by Baseball America ... played four years of football and three years of basketball ... holds Montana state record for longest field goal (63 yards) ... also holds state basketball record for rebounds per game average (14.2) ... helped lead high school basketball team to state championship as senior.
