2017 Season
Pitched in 15 games, starting game three of the first three weekend series as well as the Senior Day game vs. Michigan… struck out a season-high five against Texas State and Valparaiso… worked three innings of one-hit relief in the comeback win at Indiana State that ignited a seven-game win streak… made two appearances in the Northwestern series and also pitched in Big Ten games against Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Nebraska at the Big Ten Tournament… worked two innings of one-hit relief in his return to his native Minnesota, helping Purdue clinch a series victory… did not issue a walk over nine innings in his first two starts of the season while beginning the year in the weekend rotation… pitched a combined 3 2/3 innings of one-run relief over two appearances as Purdue won both games of its midweek series with Fort Wayne. 2016 Season
Academic All-Big Ten... Schumacher pitched in a team-high 21 games, starting the finale of the Ohio series... was the first man out of the bullpen in the season opener at Georgia Tech, working 3 1/3 innings of one-run relief in his team debut... retired all 12 batters he faced over four innings of perfect relief in the comeback win at Georgia State to close out the opening weekend... made two appearances in the same weekend three other times... worked three innings of scoreless relief in the home midweek game vs. IPFW... pitched in Big Ten games against Nebraska, Indiana, Maryland, Ohio State, Northwestern and Minnesota... recorded 11 strikeouts over 8 2/3 innings in April and then finished the season strong with 6 2/3 innings of two-run ball over five appearances in May. Schumacher played his sophomore season at Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel, Illinois... pitched in 12 games for Wabash Valley, earning three wins and a save while compiling 27 strikeouts and a 3.16 ERA in 31 1/3 innings... started his college career at North Dakota State, pitching in five games in 2014 after redshirting the year prior... worked a scoreless inning of relief against Northern Colorado and Dakota Wesleyan... also pitched against USC, LIU Brooklyn and Minnesota.
