Nate Sickler joins the Purdue coaching staff as the volunteer assistant coach after serving as a baseball operations manager during the 2006 season.

As the Boilermakers' operations manager, Sickler provided video capture and analysis of player batting mechanics for the Purdue coaching staff. Sickler also performed recruitment database management and general technical support.

Sickler played his collegiate baseball at Purdue where he was a first team All-Big Ten outfielder in 2001 and a second team selection in 2000. A three-time academic all-conference honoree, Sickler established himself as one of the greats at Purdue and still ranks among the career leaders in nine offensive categories including home runs (second, 32), runs scored (second, 166) and runs batted in (fifth, 149).

A native of Hinckley, Minn., Sickler earned his bachelor's degree from Purdue in industrial technology in 2001 and completed his master's degree in industrial technology in 2003.

Sickler is a product of Hinckley-Finlayson High School in Hinkley, Minn.

Sickler is married to the former Nicole Silva of Phoenix, Ariz. The couple resides in Battle Ground, Ind., and is expecting their first child in the summer of 2007.
