2013 Season
Picchiotti played in 44 games and started 38 times... started games at five different positions: catcher (23), left field (11), designated hitter (2), right field (1) and third base (1)... batted in a team-high eight different spots in the lineup, all but cleanup... started all three games of every Big Ten series except Michigan and Iowa... was the first Purdue batter at Alexander Field and also recorded the first Purdue RBI (eighth inning of March 22 game vs. Ohio State)... connected for the first home run at Alexander Field while leading the Boilers to their first win at the new ballpark with a 3-for-5, 3 RBI night April 5 vs. Northwestern... batted leadoff as the starting catcher in game two of the Ohio State series, joining Sean McHugh as the first Purdue catchers to bat leadoff since 2007... was second on the team in toughest to K, fanning 14 times in 157 at-bats (once every 11.2 ABs)... delivered a game-tying two-out single in the ninth inning of the series finale win at Michigan to ignite a four-run rally... had two hits in all three games of the series sweep at Penn State, finishing the weekend 6-for-13 with no strikeouts... with a runner on third and less than two outs, plated that runner in 13 of his 18 chances (72 percent)... led the team with 16 RBI in true road games while striking out only five times in 89 at-bats... batted a team-best .391 (9-for-23) in midweek action... was tops on the team with a .418 average (23-for-55) and 17 RBI in Purdue victories... broke out of a slow start to the season with a 9-for-23 showing on the spring break trip, highlighted by a four-hit effort in the game two win at Illinois-Chicago... enjoyed a solid series at Michigan, going 4-for-10 with four RBI and no strikeouts... singled and scored for his first collegiate hit during the seven-run fourth inning rally in the season-opening win against Connecticut... went 14-for-34 with six RBI and only one strikeout during an eight-game hit streak during the middle of the season... recorded an RBI in a team-high five straight games in April, driving in a run in all three games of the Northwestern series.

Picchiotti was a four-year varsity letter-winner for coach Chris Ledbetter at Oak Park-River Forest High School in suburban Chicago... three-time all-state honoree helped lead Oak Park-River Forest to the 4A state title as a senior... batted .505 as a second team all-state performer his junior year... garnered third team all-state honors as a senior (.450) and sophomore (.490)...six-time honor roll student.
