Alaska Summer League: Had an impressive 4-1 record with a 4.17 ERA in 10 appearances... tied for the team lead in wins and tied for the fewest losses... pitched 49 2/3 innings and recorded a team best 38 strikeouts.
1998: Had a team-best 5-2 record in 12 starts ... Purdue was 10-2 in games that Morgan started ... averaged 9.13 strikeouts per nine innings ... led the team with five wins, 67.0 innings pitched, 68 strikeouts, 12 starts and two complete games ... was 3-1 with 5.06 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 32.0 innings in Big Ten play ... named to the 7-Up Diamond Classic All-Tournament Team after striking out nine in eight innings in Purdue’s 10-4 win over Valparaiso (2/27) ... recorded career-high 10 strikeouts without walking a batter in 11-4 win over Penn State (5/10).
1997: Led team with two shutouts ... picked up first win of the season with six strong innings against Ball State (4/16), allowing five hits while fanning four ... tossed seven-hit shutout, striking out eight against Indiana State (4/22) ... threw four-hit shutout against IUPUI (5/12), fanning five while walking none.
Notre Dame High School: Compiled a 5-1 record with a 0.65 ERA while striking out 87 and allowing only seven hits in 51 innings during his senior season ... first team All-Central New York ... named Tri-Valley Player-of-the-Year ... played three years of varsity football ... high school coach was Jim LaFountain.
